Happy Thanksgiving!

This piece is called "The Visitor."

I thought it was appropriate for a celebratory post about a holiday when people come together despite (or because of) all their quirks and differences.

Wishing you all a lovely holiday full of warmth and cheerful connections!

Costume Fun

My Halloween costume this year was Frida Kahlo!

I had some fun with it and created a little homage to her double self portrait, The Two Fridas.

I am now an expert at drawing on a unibrow.

Pixel Noir

The music video for the single "Stitches," from Polinski's debut album dropped today. Johnny D illustrated all the pixel art for the video. I think it's pretty darn rad.

Watch it here (try the full-screen version to catch all the text)!

And check out John's tumblr, blog and facebook page to see more of his work.

I Love That We're Us

I'm in love with this happy little Anniversary card for Target. It's so sweet and one of those things I'm proud to have worked on. Who can resist foxes in love?

Brave Little Dog

The pup Lilyopterix joined Johnny D and I on a merry afternoon bike ride through the Metroparks this past Saturday. We strapped her good and tight into the basket on the front of my bike and took off on the path along the river. This was her first bike adventure, so I was afraid she might be nervous, but she seemed to really enjoy looking around her as we sped through the trees. Her little dog nose was all a'quiver with the woodsy scents and the smells of Summertime cookouts.

Much-Loved Soul

One of the cards I'm most proud of.

An In Rhythm sympathy card for American Greetings, with subtle sheens of gold and metallic bronze linework details.

You're So Nice

A simple cutie-pie thank you card for American Greetings.

It doesn't show here, but the linework of the bird and letter is shiny metallic bronze. There's a floral pattern in a subtle sheen over the whole front of the card.
