Beer, Girls & Ink

Some rough figure drawings from Dr. Sketchy's. It's been a verrry long time since I last sketched from live models, so I felt rusty, indeed! But great music, friendly company and tasty beverages helped make it a fun event. Link

The Deterioration Of A Wedding Brainstorm

This is what happened when my fiancé and I attempted to do some collaborative sketches for our save-the-date announcements...

...yep.

But never fear - it all worked out. The announcements are being printed as we speak :)

Purple-Haired Stitched Girls

Two are in the shop (one has already been adopted).

I'm also planning on doing some with color-washed backgrounds. Purple thread on a yellow surface? Light blue on a red background? Mmm...

I think I need a better name other than "stitched girls." Hmm...

Across The Sea

Some fun news - my Acrobat painting will be appearing on the cover of a book being published in India! Out of the blue, but a very exciting happening for me. The book, "The Art of Dying" is by author Githa Hariharan.

Too Many Tiny Houses and Afternoon Shop Update

I can't stop drawing these little neighborhoods. Any bit of scrap paper on my desk ends up with a nest of houses on it. The drawings are only about two or three inches tall, right now, but I feel like they could turn into something more substantial somehow. Fabric design? A story? Hm...

And check the shop this afternoon! There will be an update of thirteen items(!) including 3 new purple-haired stitched girls.

Protective Scarf

I'm having some health issues related to my throat... Did this piece yesterday as a kind of avenue to help clear my mind of worry.

For A Good Cause

I was excited to be asked by the Geauga Humane Society's Rescue Village and the Orange Art Center to participate in an exhibition to benefit their organizations! The show opens Thursday night, December 4th at 6PM and runs through December 14th. I'm looking forward to coming up with some little creature-inspired pieces. My concept list is too long already...

Baltimore, Revisited.

Here we are!
So nervous, we were.
And here's John... ruining the photo.
...or making it better?

A close-up of part of the table. Pretty challenging to arrange 3 artists' work within such a small space. We muddled out a more suitable arrangement the next morning.

Downtown! Walking to the Harbor.
Very exciting for me - I'd love to come back for the aquarium and the museums. We could only peer through the windows.

We three!
Such an energy-sapping but thoroughly enjoyable trip. Let's go back!
