Zzzzzzzzz...
...is what I need.
It's arduous driving for 6 hours after a day at work, trying to sell work at the Con for 15 hours, driving the 6 (or more?) hours back, getting in at 2AM and then going to work the next day.
But it was such a fun trip!!! Although the time we got to spend actually roaming the city was very brief, I really loved what I saw of Baltimore - there was something so lovely and old and charming about it, and we felt welcomed.
Absolutely loved the basement of the Brewer's Art on N. Charles - really wish Cleveland had something similar. Good company with a fantastic atmosphere, delicious beer and unbelievable fries (although it did seem like every song played was from Guitar Hero). We stayed and the weird, spooky, quirky Mount Vernon Hotel. With all the old paintings, marble faces and taxidermied animals, it felt like with just a few cobwebs, it could be so easily turned into a haunted hotel. Although our room key repeatedly stopped working, the elevator broke and the basement parking garage gave us the super creep-out, I enjoyed the place and would venture to stay again. More endearing than your average chain motel, that's for sure.
By the way, thanks to folks on the internet for these particular photos - ours are still sleeping in the camera. Pics of new art that sold (and didn't sell) will be up soon!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table!

Weekend in Baltimore!
Hope everyone got to have some fun this weekend. I spent mine exclusively drawing and stitching (sore fingers) in preparation for a little road trip. This Friday, I'll be driving the 7 or so hours from cloudy Cleveland to the middle of Maryland for the Baltimore Comic-Con.
John DeLucca, Emily Gross and I will have a table there to sell prints and originals and perhaps even shirts.
Come see us if you're in the area!

The portraits! They are 14"x20", done in oil with a smidge of colored pencil and the graphite drawing underneath.
He has a kerchief with the word "frisbee" repeated along the edge.
She has a tiny portrait of her dog Otto in her brooch.
The wallpaper is peonies and finches.
Below are some details and also the graphite drawings on the illustration board before any paint got near.

I'm Back...
Sorry for the lack of posts, recently!
I've been busy finishing up two large-ish portraits for a coworker and then preparing for a venture into the mountains and valleys of North Carolina - The wonderful and peculiar land of Asheville, to be more specific.
My fiancé and I were visiting the place of our intended wedding (October, 2009) .
Eeeee!
Pardon my excitement :)
I'll have some photos of the portraits up soon.
