Prints Available!

I'm a little late in posting this, but my fiance recently listed 11 of his Presidents series prints in his Etsy.com shop. He's a fairly new seller and is waiting on his first sale. Take a look!

The Tamed Birds Accumulate

But first! A bear!

And now, here are most of the birds, around the Tamer. There are still many more to start and finish.
Please, pay no attention to our apartment's very, very old carpet.

Beginnings of the Bird Tamer

Oh dear! It's been over a week since my last post - apologies!

Here are a few of the "Bird Tamer's" feathered followers: A grouping of wooden pieces with... birds on them. There will be at least 10 (more like 20, I hope) individual bird plaques, which will surround a larger piece with the Bird Tamer herself. Kind of like a small installation of sorts.
Unfortunately, some of the more subtle pattern was lost in these scans, but you can get an idea of how they're turning out.
I hope to do some that are much more complicated, some with larger silhouettes or more detailed scissoring.
There will also be birds in cages, owls, standing birds, walking birds... I'm basically just making it up as I go along...

Post Script~
There have been many bird-posts recently. To those of you for whom birds are not a favorite subject - don't despair! Some lions and tiger and bears are coming up!

My 100th Post!

And to celebrate, here are five little fabric and paper pieces I completed tonight. Some are stitched onto paper, some are attached to pieces of wood.
The colors are much brighter and richer in real life. The darker reds and greens seem to have disappeared in these images. I was impatient, and took these photos after the sun went down with just a desklamp as my lightsource.

They will be for sale (with others) this Friday at the Summer Art Walk at my work. I hope they're adopted!

Come One, Come All!

I'll post more info nearer to the approaching date, but I'm having a solo show at the lovely Papercuts & Gluesticks Gallery in Rocky River, Ohio. The festivities will begin at 7PM on the evening of July 25th - the last Friday in July.

If you live in the Greater Cleveland area, I'd be so happy to see you there! Drinks and refreshments will abound!

The Dancer and the Musician

Two little works made of cut and layered paper, graphite and colored pencil. This project helped me to loosen up and allow some elements to happen accidentally, which was a nice change for me.
They make me happy!

Another Recent Commission

Commissions are fun and terrifying, simultaneously. Trying to live up to someone's (most likely) preconceived notion about what the piece might look like is nerve-wracking, and it's difficult to know if the final result is what they truly expected or hoped for.
But I try my best! All positive responses so far, knock on wood.
