Griffin
Fierce and loyal, a griffin has horns that cure sickness, feathers that restore sight, and a beak used for quarrying gold.
There are theories that tales of the griffin first began when fossilized remains of the Protoceratops were discovered in gold mines by ancient observers. With fossils of a nest and eggs nearby, onlookers may have interpreted the sheep-sized dinosaur as an astonishing half-bird-half-beast.

Sea Serpent
It's said that sea serpents can be as wide as merchant ships with giant fins, or so long and sleek that they encircle the entire world. Whether horned, maned, or bewhiskered, they are known for lurking in the deepest uncharted waters. Beware!

Unicorn
Wild and difficult to capture, the unicorn is a symbol of purity and grace. Its spiraled horn has the ability to purify poisoned water and heal sickness.
Many think of the unicorn as a docile creature, but I prefer this description from Cosmas Indicopleustes: "It is impossible to take this ferocious beast alive; and that all its strength lies in its horn. When it finds itself pursued and in danger of capture, it throws itself from a precipice, and turns so aptly in falling, that it receives all the shock upon the horn, and so escapes safe and sound."
