Gathering, Creating, Preparing

So sorry for the very few posts recently! My To-Do list for the wedding is full of many, many small tasks and it has kept me very busy. Plus, there has been more than usual to accomplish at work, and I'm also preparing for two group-shows in October. Whew!

Posts might be scattered in the new few weeks, but I'll try to keep up as best I can.

Happy Monday!

Dear Prudence

A fun sketch I did for a friend's White Album printmaking project, based on the Beatles' song.

In the Blink of an Eye

One month from now, I'll be at the top of a little hill in North Carolina with this person I have loved for nearly 6 years, surrounded by friends, family and the people who will soon become my family. Time has certainly passed swiftly this year and it's surprising that the big day is nearly here!

I'm celebrating by eating cold spicy pizza for breakfast ;)

Snug as a Bug

I'm already in love with our house.

Closets, rooms, halls and ceilings still need paint, cracks and loose floorboards must be fixed and everything we own is still packed away in boxes, but despite the bare and echoing walls, I can curl up on the sofa in the middle of our living rooms and feel more cozy and comfortable than I ever did in our tiny apartment.

Little Things

Enjoyed drawing a bunch of cute tiny icons for my good friend Claire Teschel's new site. I love little houses!

In fact, we'll be moving the last of our belongings into our very own little house this weekend. Let's cross our fingers for good weather :)
Happy Friday, everyone!

Working Weekend

Proud of all the great things we accomplished with the invaluable help of my parents during their visit!

Our kitchen went from my least favorite part of the house to something we are really happy with and eager to use. We certainly learned a thing or two about carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical odds & ends. The house is becoming our home and I'm so grateful for all the help and hard work from my parents. We couldn't have done it without them, for sure!

We didn't have any time for kayaking, picnicking or fancy dinners during their visit, but I discovered that a late night meal of pizza in the middle of an empty living room floor, surrounded by sawdust and paint cans, listening to old blues and laughing exhaustedly after a day of hard work is something that no pricey restaurant can ever top.

Desk of Cards

Here are a bunch of my new cards and scrapbooking stickers that you can find at WalMart. The first 7 pictured here are printed on 100% recycled paper (with my cute little "eco" icons on the back), which is fabulous! Yay for post-consumer material :)

Sewing Essentials for a Sassy Seamstress

P. S.
Artwalk tonight in Tremont! I'll be at Lucky's from 7-9 accompanying the pieces of mine hanging in the café.
